FISHERS, Ind. — REAL News Central Indiana has learned the Hamilton East Public Library continues to push sexual content onto children despite a new policy in place to protect kids from pornographic and explicit material. In fact, the HEPL library has pamphlets specifically for middle school children called the “HEPL Pride Guide.” The pamphlet is prominently located in the library’s “middle school collection” display.
The guide contains several titles of books with a description on the front of the pamphlet stating “Check out these middle school LGBTQIA+ novels!”
The books being pushed onto kids include the following:
Obie is Man Enough: A story about a transgender swimmer joining the swim team of the opposite sex.
Middle School’s a Drag: A story about a 13-year-old drag queen.
Redwood and Ponytail: A story about two lesbian students.
The Language of Seabirds: A story about two boys becoming gay.
Nikhil Out Loud: A story about a 13-year-old gay boy.

Conservative members of library board have experienced consistent protests and harassment for their policies to protect children. Last month, one man was arrested for screaming at the board and then slamming several books onto the floor.
