RINO School Board pres. eyes replacing conservative HEPL Board member

Published on

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — REAL News Central Indiana has learned “Republicans” on the Noblesville School Board are planning to replace a conservative member of the Hamilton East Public Library Board next week. The Noblesville School Board is responsible for appointing two members of the HEPL Board. One current appointment is Laura Alerding, who is also a member of the Noblesville School Board. Her term on the HEPL Board is up at the end of this month. She will either be replaced or re-appointed during the Noblesville School Board meeting on Tuesday, August 15th.

Alerding serves as the president of the HEPL Board and has been at the forefront of a policy to remove pornographic material from children’s sections of the library. Democrats and Leftist activists have been fighting against the policy by showing up to meetings enmasse to harass board members who are attempting to protect children from being exposed to sexual content. One Democrat activist was arrested at a meeting last month when he refused to leave the library after he shouted at board members and slammed several books onto the floor.

RNCI has learned the president of the Noblesville School Board, Dr. Joe Forgey, has been the main board member pushing for Alerding’s removal. Forgey, who claims to be a Republican, is a pediatric dentist and former youth basketball coach. Sources tell RNCI he has been against policies that Alerding has been pursuing and plans to potentially flip the HEPL board back into liberal control by replacing Alerding with a new left leaning member. The HEPL library currently has a razor thin conservative majority of just one seat. Forgey held a critical role in appointing a different left-leaning member of the HEPL Board last year, when Michelle Payne was reappointed despite being against policies to protect children from pornographic material.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS RESPOND

Several community members have reached out to Forgey in an attempt to persuade him to reappoint Alerding to her HEPL Board position. The following is a letter that was sent to him last week:

Dr Forgey and the Noblesville School Board,

Our country has awakened to the immense impact of sexual violence, abuse, trafficking, and other issues that misuse women and children in unimaginable ways. This is true in our country and in the world. The people who are perpetrating such horrific actions and influences on children are people who learned to do ‘what they do’ from somewhere or from someone.

The breaking down of a child’s natural desire for privacy and protection of their body is compromised when they are exposed to pictures, behaviors, or verbal suggestions that are beyond their imagination or understanding. When they are exposed to such people, books, pictures, videos engaging in practices of this kind in their very own public library, they are confused. Historically , libraries have been safe places for children to explore our amazing world and the fantastic works of hundreds of authors. YET – now they have new uncomfortable images in their minds. What a child SEES is embedded in their memory – especially when it’s about their body or is something surprising, even alarming ….and it was in the safety of their library.

By SEEING sexual actions drawn or revealed in a book, again, in the “safety” of their library gives such material an unearned credibility. A child’s bent to be cautionary when uncomfortable has now been broken. Once this happens it is very difficult to restore that boundary that has been protecting them.

We can only speculate how much or in what way, such an encounter will impact their lives. One thing is for sure – it does nothing to bless them or promote lifestyles that will lead to health, happiness, and a sound mind.

I for one, am angered and deeply troubled that anyone who says they care about our children and stands for permitting such material in our public libraries , well, they should NOT have a voice on the Library Board. They certainly do not have the children’s best in mind. They are living incongruously, conflicted and in confusion. They really cannot believe both sides of this coin. You either care about protecting children’s minds and bodies or are willing to sacrifice them for the sake of ……what? Nothing is worth compromising a child’s physical, sexual, and mental stability and honor.

Considering this, Mr. Forgey and Noblesville School Board, you have an important choice to make. Support those who desire to promote safety for our children, who see this as a high priority or not. It is a clear and uncomplicated choice.

Remember my opening statement about the awakening in the world to the disastrous onslaught of sexual abuse, trafficking, and general misuse of the minds of children. You can help be a part of the solution by maintaining a person with the same values demonstrated by Laura Aldering in her current position on the Library Board. She has consistently worked for the conservative views of the majority in this county and is needed there to continue this effort to keep our libraries mindful of what is good and safe for our young children.

My family and thousands of other families are counting on you to support not hinder our desire for safe libraries – safe from the unspeakable damage done by the information in books that have been allowed. Fueling destructive thinking and feelings should NOT be a tool of the library – especially for our younger children. Need I mention one book with a drawing of how one man can violate another and suggested as an alternative behavior? That’s what you want your grandchildren to consider? Really?

This time in our world REQUIRES your best for the sake of our children. I ask that you do nothing less.
