SOUTH BEND, Ind. — After backlash from the community following a REAL News investigation, South Bend Elks Lodge #235 has cancelled a “Drag Brunch” event that was scheduled for next month. The event, which was for people 21-and-older, was to feature a drag queen who historically performs in front of children. While it appears folks at the Elks Lodge determined they could not support a man who does sexual performances in front of kids, a local business in Lebanon appears to still embrace it.
One of the drag queens scheduled to perform at the now cancelled event in South Bend is a man who uses the stage name Brooklyn Burroughs. Burroughs recently performed for children at the Westfield Pride event in Hamilton County, in which kids gave him and others cash tips as they danced provocatively in front of them. Burroughs has also taken to social media to defend drag shows for kids. In fact, he has relied on Lebanon business owner Danielle Hoffman and her business, the Echo Room, for support as seen in his comments in a post on Facebook below.
Hoffman consistently hosts sexualized drag shows The Echo Room in Downtown Lebanon. She unabashedly posts pictures and videos of the sexualized acts on social media for anyone, including children, to see. She has also highlighted Burroughs in several promotions for events at her venue.
Hoffman also owns That Sports Bar and Pizza King in Lebanon. She is also a former amateur pornstar, who had a page on the pornographic site Onlyfans as recently as 2021. Hoffman recently opened a concessions stand inside of a new youth sports center, The Farmers Bank Fieldhouse, making food for children.
