FISHERS, Ind. — Former Hamilton Southeastern School Board President Julie Chambers is promoting a push to remove police officers from schools. Chambers, an attorney who is also the Vice President of the Fishers Democratic Club, pushed for the removal of school resource officers in a post to X (formerly known as Twitter) earlier this week.
“It would be helpful if people from wealthy suburbs took a minute to consider that not every student in every district feels safe around the police.” Chambers wrote, while sharing an opinion piece published in the Indianapolis Star lambasting school-based law enforcement officers.

Chambers appears to be aligning herself with the radical Black Lives Matter movement that has been pushing for the removal of School Resource Officers for several years. Chamber’s echoing of BLM talking points came shortly after the organization came under fire for supporting Hamas terrorists who recently killed more than 1,300 Israeli Jews, mainly civilians, in an attack last week.
BLM Chicago recently posted a picture of a Hamas terrorist who was paragliding into Israel with the caption, “I stand with Palestine.” Dozens of Hamas fighters entered the southern part of the country using paragliders. Those terrorists converged on a music festival, killing nearly 300 innocent attendees.

Chambers served as the President of the HSE Board as recently as last year. She was voted out of office in November of 2022.
