FISHERS, Ind. — REAL News Central Indiana has discovered the journalist for the Hamilton County Reporter who has been covering the Hamilton East Public Library policy regarding the removal of pornographic and inappropriate material from children’s sections is a convicted child molester. It turns out, reporter Stuart Clampitt has also been convicted of child pornography.
According to records with the Indiana Department of Corrections Stuart has been sentenced to prison for the following crimes involving children:
May 6th, 1996: Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, 4-year prison sentence
May 6th, 1996: Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, another 4-year prison sentence.
June 24th, 1996: Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, 8-year prison sentence
June 24th, 1996: Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, another 8-year prison sentence
September 30th, 1996: Child Molestation, 2-year prison sentence
Additional court records show Clampitt was charged with possession of child pornography in 2003. He pled guilty in that case to violating the terms of his probation and was sent back to prison.
Clampitt was arrested again for violating the terms of his probation in 2016 when he illegally went onto school property despite being listed on the Indiana Sex Offender Registry. He was also found guilty in that case.
At the time of his original conviction, Indiana law did not have lifetime sentencing mandates for the Sex Offender Registry. Clampitt was taken off of the registry shortly after his latest conviction. If he had been convicted of those crimes today, Clampitt would more than likely be required to be listed on the registry for the rest of his life.
CLAMPITT’S COVERAGE OF LIBRARY POLICY
Clampitt’s coverage of the library has been heavily weighted against the policy that would protect children from being exposed to pornographic material.
In one article Clampitt spoke to Author Kelly Yang who lambasted the board and its policy. In the story, Yang demanded all of the books that have been removed be put back into children’s sections. Clampitt did not reach out to any other source to get the other side of the story.
RNCI reached out to Yang for comment about why she was promoting explicit material for children through a convicted sex offender. She did not respond.
RNCI also reached out to the Hamilton County Reporter for comment. You can see our email below. As of publication, we have not received a response.
One book that has been taken out of the children’s sections is titled, Let’s Talk About It: The Teen’s Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human. Let’s talk about it is a graphic novel which gives depictions of sexual acts, directs children on how to perform the acts, tells kids to watch pornography and advises kids to go into internet chat groups to discuss their sexual fantasies.
Below are just a few excerpts from other books that have been removed from sections for children.
“…his nose brushing your right nipple … his lips capturing it, his tongue circling, circling, his teeth skimming and biting, not hard, just enough to make your hands tighten into fists and clutch the blanket, enough to make your legs begin to quiver … How much you want him to put his mouth on you, there, right there, at the crux of you … a hand on each of your thighs, his head buried between them, and he’s not teasing you … his tongue and lips press into you, as his fingers pull you apart, as you come undone beneath his hands … the hot firm pressure of his tongue against your center, the insistence of his hands on your thighs, the building wonder of your pleasure rising, oh, that is not familiar, that is new, brand-new. You gush—that is the word, the only word—you gush as the pleasure becomes too much to survive, and it bursts like a shaken-up can of soda, it tickles and it burns and it ripples from your center outward, in pulses of sensation so intense you are pinned by them … Hand still wrapped around his erection, you lean up to kiss him … his dark, flat chest, the tight black curls of his pubic hair surrounding his erection. It’s wet-tipped and urgent, and you stroke it with your fingers … you kneel over him, letting your hair hide your face as you reach between your bodies, find his penis, and guide it toward the entrance of your vagina … you lower yourself onto him, his hands gentle on your hips … you sink all the way down, as you feel a tear deep inside you, painful but not terrible, as you feel yourself full of him, of James. And then you move, careful and slow, your hands on his chest, his on your hips, your thighs, and it’s not long before his face tightens up, he makes a low groan, and he shivers beneath you.”
“Feeling him against me that way made me so excited I couldn’t lie still. He rolled over on top of me and we moved together again and again and it felt so good I didn’t ever want to stop—until I came … He led my hand to his penis … I let my hands go everywhere … moving my hand up and down according to his rhythm. Soon Michael moaned and I felt him come—a pulsating feeling, a throbbing … then wetness. Some of it got on my hand but I didn’t let go … We both left on our underpants but after a minute Michael was easing mine down and then his fingers began exploring me. I let my hands wander across his stomach and down his legs and finally I began to stroke … “Oh, yes … yes … ” I said, as Michael made me come. And he came too …”
