CARMEL, Ind. — REAL News Central Indiana has learned a Republican City Councilwoman for Carmel not only spoke at an event that hosted a drag show for children, she also helped to sponsor it. Sue Finkam, who is also the Republican nominee for Mayor, helped to financially support the Carmel Pride event which occurred last month. During the event, video shows children shoving money into the underwear of grown men.
“It was an honor sponsoring and participating in Carmel Pride today.” Finkam wrote in a post on Facebook on June 25th. “Throughout my career and in this campaign, I have focused on issues and policies that unify our community, rather than divide it.”

Carmel Pride, which took place on June 25th at the Carter Green city park, featured drag shows in front of children. The event also included facepainting and games specifically geared toward children. Photos of the drag performers, including one who was receiving cash tips (much like a female exotic dancer and a gentlemen’s club) can be seen below.

It appears Finkam sponsored the event through her Mayoral Campaign. Signs and flyers for Carmel Pride that promoted its sponsors include Finkam’s campaign logo. RNM Reached out to Finkam for comment, asking how much money she or her campaign donated to the event and if she supported the drag portion of the event. As of publication she has not responded.

Finkam is the founder and CEO of Fire Starter LLC, a marketing agency located in Carmel.
